Alaina McKinnon
Acrobatics, Ballet, Jazz & Lyrical Instructor
Alaina-Rose McKinnon started dancing at the age of five at Banks Dance Academy. She then transferred to Forest Grove Dance Arts where she has trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, and Acrobatics. Alaina started as a teachers assistant and continued on as a teacher in training at FGDA, she is now going on her 5th year of teaching. She is a level 2 certified Acrobatic Arts Teacher.
In 2017 she was accepted into the Edge Performing Arts Scholarship Program in Los Angeles, California where she trained in Contemporary, Jazz Funk, Hip Hop, Ballet, Tap, Turns, and more. She had the incredible opportunity to be mentored by Bill Prudich and Randy Allaire, as well as dance and learn along side many incredible people. She has now moved back to Oregon to continue teaching and learning. She has attended various amounts of competitions, conventions, workshops, and intensives including a summer at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle as well as a summer at The Joffrey Ballet in New York City. She has also had the opportunity to play many lead roles in Ballet Forest Grove’s Nutcracker and FGDA Recitals such as Sugarplum Fairy, Petite Swans, Reed Princess and more. One day she hopes to start a foundation that provides classes for those with disabilities and financial need. Until then, Alaina hopes to continue dancing, teaching and inspiring others the way that dance and her teachers have for her.
